My Background

My name is Youannas Abib. My journey began in Egypt, where I spent the first five years of my life. After that, my family moved to Dubai, where I lived for eight years and experienced a vibrant mix of cultures that shaped my outlook on the world. In 2012, we relocated to the United States, starting in Hackensack, New Jersey, where I lived for three years before finally settling in Carmel, Indiana. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for diversity and resilience, qualities I aim to bring into my future career as a physical therapist, and here we are!

I am currently pursuing a degree in Exercise Science on the pre-physical therapy track. My ultimate goal is to work as a traveling physical therapist, serving communities in the Hamilton County area after graduation. Physical therapy appeals to me because of its ability to make a direct, positive impact on people’s lives by helping them regain mobility, confidence, and independence.​

I take great pride in being involved in my church’s service learning programs, where I play a humble yet meaningful role. As part of my dedication, I studied our church's curriculum to become both a Sunday school servant and a chaperone, allowing me to contribute to the spiritual growth and well-being of our community. Outside of these responsibilities, I am passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which I train in at least twice a day, 6–7 days a week. This discipline has taught me perseverance, mental toughness, and respect, all of which influence how I approach both personal and professional challenges. Additionally, I enjoy watching soccer, a sport that connects me to my roots and my love for teamwork.

I am excited about the path I am on and look forward to combining my passions, skills, and background to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
